Houston artist Travis Hedemann unveils new work at Ciao Bello
Houston-based artist Travis Hedemann has unveiled a new work at Tony Vallone’s Galleria-area restaurant Ciao Bello.
The work, entitled “In Vino Abbiamo Fiducia” (“In Wine We Trust”) was commissioned especially by Mr. Vallone for installation in the popular Italian restaurant.
The piece was “inspired by our favorite restaurant, La Giostra, in Florence,” said artist Hedemann.
“La Giostra’s motto is In Food we Trust and so I thought it fitting to paint In Vino Abbiamo Fiducia next to Bacchus, knowing Tony and [general manager] Scott [Sulma]’s love for wine and all things Italian.”
Hedemann was first introduced to Tony Vallone by legendary Houston-based art collector Don Sanders. Since that first meeting, Vallone has commissioned numerous works by the artist, many of which adorn the walls of Houston culinary landmark Tony’s and “my neighborhood Italian restaurant” Ciao Bello on San Felipe at Sage.
A native Houstonian, Travis Hedemann is known for his bold, eye-catching paintings.
In recent years, the artist has become a darling of the Hollywood art scene and his works have been purchased by many of the entertainment industry’s bold-face names.
