Barolo, one of the world’s greatest wines at Ciao Bello June 24
The village of Barolo is one of the five core townships of the Barolo appellation, where Nebbiolo grapes are vinified to make one of the world’s most coveted red wines.
Although not related to Pinot Noir genetically, Nebbiolo can be compared to Pinot Noir inasmuch as it is a thin-skinned, tannic grape.
Like Pinot Noir, it makes for lighter colored red wine with enormous structure and aging potential.
And like Pinot Noir, it makes for wines with sublime nuance.
Tony will be opening one of his favorite Barolos on Tuesday, June 24 at Ciao Bello.
He’s calling his “Evening in Piedmont” event “the wine dinner” of his Italian regional cuisine dinner series.
