PIEDMONT DINNER with DALE ROBERTSON September 29

“This one is going to be a blockbuster,” says Tony Vallone of the upcoming Piedmont Food and Wine dinner at Ciao Bello (September 29), his first regional Italian cuisine dinner of the season.
“Not only are we going to be pouring some incredible wines from Piedmont, the land of Barolo and Barbaresco,” he explains, “but we will also be joined by our friend Dale Robertson, one of our favorite wine writers and one of Houston’s greatest experts on Piedmontese wines.”
Well into an immensely successful career as a sports writer in a sports-crazy city, Dale began writing about food and wine many years ago when he started covering the Tour de France for the Houston Chronicle.
To this day, he still summers every year in France not far from the Italian border and just a stone’s throw from the villages of Barolo and Barbaresco where some of Italy’s greatest wines are produced.
“He’s our city’s leading authory on these wines,” says Tony. “If there’s any dinner you don’t want to miss this season, this is the one.”
